Answer U Student Support Services Advisory Group
Purpose
To serve as a representative advisory body of central student support services that guides and informs the operations of Answer U. Answer U is tasked with delivering tiered and generalist support to students, ensuring effective referrals to specialized offices and resources across campus.
Core Responsibilities

Advise on Service Delivery and Tiered Support
- Provide feedback on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of tiered support models, ensuring that students receive the appropriate level of assistance based on their needs.
- Recommend strategies to balance generalist support with effective referrals to central student support services.
- Inform training and professional development opportunities for Guided Services and for central student support services.

Review and Refine Referral Protocols
- Advise on the development and ongoing refinement of transparent, efficient referral processes between Guided Services and central student support services.
- Ensure that referral pathways are clear, accessible, and responsive to student needs.

Promote Collaboration and Communication
- Facilitate regular dialogue among central student support student services and Guided Services to share insights, identify challenges, and coordinate support efforts.
- Address and resolve issues related to duplication, gaps, or inconsistencies in student support identified by both Guided Services and the central student support services.

Oversee Documentation Practices
- Advise on protocols for documenting student interactions, referrals, and follow-up actions within Guided Services and central student support services, where appropriate.
- Promote consistent and secure documentation practices to support accountability, communication, and continuous improvement in student success support.

Monitor Student Experience and Outcomes
- Use data and student feedback collected by both Guided Services and central student support services to assess the effectiveness of support services and referral processes.
- Center the student perspective in all recommendations, ensuring that support remains student-focused, equitable, and accessible.

Advance Awareness and Adoption
- Share guided-services information within home units and networks and integrate it into student-facing touchpoints (webpages, syllabi, advising emails, orientation, first-year courses).
- Identify and facilitate opportunities to communicate directly to students and student leaders.
- Partner with Guided Services on developing and distributing communications assets (slides, email blurbs, etc.) to align timing and message.
